La Porte pulled off the 34-31 win in overtime after having the game in control into the 4th quarter and blowing a 2 touchdown lead.
Games between La Porte and Deer Park are never over.
Deer Park decided to try to run the ball in OT after passing at will throughout the second half. This was their major mistake. They settled for a FG.
Junior Running Back Keith Whitely carried the Bulldogs on his back tonight and willed himself into the end zone in overtime for the game winner.
Deer Park picked La Porte apart with their passing game in the second half. The Bulldogs pressure could not get to Deer Senior QB Austin Rainer and he had a great game. There will be plenty for LP to work on before facing a prolific passing team Channelview in 2 weeks.
