La Porte High School finished up their 2013 sporting year with annual Orange and White Spring Game. This year the Bulldogs showcased the talent for next season with the White team winning 28-14.
Orange got going first with a Henry Garcia interception, but could not connect on a well thrown deep ball from returning starting Quarterback Jordan Jackson.
Both sides were a little slow to start on the varsity and JV sides. However the White team would get the scoring started with a Nick Brown to Bryson Rogers 20 yard pass in which Rogers leapt and snagged the pass over great coverage.
White would get on the board again on the JV side of the ball when Nathan Redd returned a interception for a touchdown making it 14-0. Redd had a great night also running two long touchdowns, one of them called back by a penalty.
It continued to be all White team as Christian Raymundo would get a interception.
The Orange team came back with their running game. Woody Martinez would get a touchdown back on the JV side with a good run and stiff arm to make it 14-7 White.
Then on the varsity side, leading returning rusher Jonathan Lewis made a great power cut at the goaline to tie the game at 14.
Third string QB Wyatt Stevenson found David Terrebonne for a 30 yard strike through the air to make it 21-14 White.
The White team would put a cap on the night with the aforementioned Redd 30 yard run.
Standout players on the night were Lane Albertson, Victor Holmes, Britt Grant and Seth Murray.
Now it's on to summer strength and conditioning and 7 on 7 tournaments starting June 15th at Dulles High School.
