La Porte vs Port Arthur History

This week's district 21-5A Championship Game will be the 24th all time meeting between La Porte and Port Arthur.  La Porte first faced Port Arthur Jefferson in 1922.  This rivalry dates back 89 years! 

This season will be the 24th game played between the two cities.  Port Arthur Jefferson closed in the late 90's and Port Arthur Memorial became the school in Port Arthur.

Since becoming Port Arthur Memorial, La Porte has won the last four meetings in convincing fashion.  Three of the last four meetings have been in the playoffs.

La Porte has not been beaten since 1986 with one tie in 1990.  That is 13 straight games!!

This season will be the toughest test for the Bulldogs!  Port Arthur Memorial is 8-0 and ranked 8th in the state by the AP!
