Received this note in the comments from La Porte QB Jeremy McNeal's family:
"Just wanted to give you an update on Jeremy. I traveled with him on his visit to the Air Force Academy two weeks ago, and Coach Troy Calhoun (former Texans Offensive Coordinator) wants Jeremy to come to camp with his mind prepared to play QUARTERBACK! Those words came directly from Coach Calhoun's mouth!"
McNeal signed his letter of intent to play for the Air Force yesterday. Looks like they have big plans for him. They used my blog as reference in the Colorado Springs gazette. They have him listed as a DB based on my previous posts. Air Force also signed six other QB's yesterday.

Standout RB Anthony Webb signed with the Baylor Bears after first committing to University of Houston last year. An offer from the Big 12 was too much to walk away from. According to baylorbears.com Coach Art Briles expects Anthony to play cornerback at the college level.

Starting Cornerback John Wesby signed with Navarro Community College. They are the 2010 National Junior College champions and have produced a number of NFL players over the years:

Next season La Porte is expected to have a good recruiting class led by Safety/WR Aaron Nance-Garrett and LB Chad Sutherland.
In other recruiting news. Deer Park had 7 players sign with only one D1 prospect (OL Travis Ellard to North Texas). Standout TE Payden McVey signed with Lamar in Beaumont.
Other District 21-5a teams:
North Shore: 10 signees (Four D1)
Beaumont West Brook: 6 signees (Two D1)
Baytown Sterling: 2 signees (QB/RB/WR Chance Nelson signed with Texas A&M)
Port Arthur Memorial: 1 JC signee. I can't find any info on their class.
Congratulations to all student-athletes for getting scholarships for a good education. This is a very big accomplishment.
